Transmogs based on the Shado-Pan Helmets

Over the past couple of weeks, the most daily-dedicated of players have been reaching exalted with the Shado-Pan faction. Among the rewards made accessible by this reputation feat, are replicas of the stylish Shado-Pan helmets, no doubt recognisable to anybody who has quested in Townlong Steppes.

There is one helmet available to each armor type, all of which are visually identical, sold by Rushi the Fox for around 18 gold each. They work in the same manner as the Darkmoon Faire replica armors, as items without stats which are purely designed for transmogrification.

We’ve compiled four outfits below which are based around the style of the helmets. They are not intended to replicate the look of Shado-Pan members, but rather to explore other ways of incorporating the headpiece into transmogrification. There is further discussion of replicating the Shado-Pan in the second half of the article.

Ideas for creative use of the Shado-Pan Helmet

Replica Shado-Pan Helmet

Armor Type: Cloth
Level Req.: 90
3D Model & Item List: Wowhead Link

This outfit is a combination of BoE world drops, tailor and scribe crafted items, and a single Valor Point purchase.

None of the pieces should be overly difficult to obtain, although the BoEs may require extensive Auction House scanning to locate.

Replica Shado-Pan Helmet

Armor Type: Leather
Level Req.: 90
3D Model & Item List: Wowhead Link

Most of the items in the leather set are BoE world drops, which are easy, albeit potentially time consuming, to obtain via the Auction House.

Aside from the BoEs, the cloak is a cheap Justice Point purchase and the bracers are crafted by leatherworkers.

Replica Shado-Pan Helmet

Armor Type: Mail
Level Req.: 90
3D Model & Item List: Wowhead Link

Our mail set is a mixture of many sources, with several BoE world drops, including the Warmonger’s chest and legs which feature prominently. There is also two crafted items, two raid drops, and a JP purchase.

It’s important to note that the shoulders are not available until 13-14th November, when the second part of the Heart of Fear LFR is opened.

Replica Shado-Pan Helmet

Armor Type: Plate
Level Req.: 90
3D Model & Item List: Wowhead Link

This set is comprised of crafted items, vendor purchases, quest rewards and a BoE world drop to boot. Most is easily obtained, although the chest and legs cost quite a lot of Justice Points.

Note that there are two pairs of quest reward gloves listed for this set, one for each faction.

Replicating members of the Shado-Pan

Whilst everybody can obtain the helmets, there are unfortunately not replicas of any of the other items in the outfit worn by the majority of Shado-Pan members. As such, trying to emulate the Shado-Pan look perfectly is quite a challenge.

By far the most popular look among the Shado-Pan is a blue and red outfit, both in tunic/pants and robe form, highlighted with brown, and either gold or silver, as seen to the right (click to enlarge).

As stated above, these particular items are not available to players, but combinations of these colours make a good starting point for creating an outfit that fits with the faction theme when accompanied by the helmet.

Leather wearers will generally have the easiest time copying the style, as this colour scheme is quite common to that armor type, and the Shado-Pan have an overall “roguey” vibe. WoW Insider has a short guide on piecing together an outfit, entitled Transmogrify your monk (or leather wearer) into a member of the Shado-Pan. You can also find a bit of information about the faction, as well as a list of all of the related NPCs, at Wowhead’s Shado-Pan Faction Overview.

Rogue-only Shado-Pan style

Also worthy of note, are a couple of NPCs who stand out with noticeably different armor from the standard Shado-Pan uniform. These NPCs do have outfits which are available to players, albeit only rogues:

Tenwu of the Red Smoke wears the rogue Tier 6 Slayer’s Armor and an asymmetrical version of the shoulders from rogue Season 3 Vengeful Gladiator’s Vestments. A rogue would therefore be able to imitate Tenwu to a high degree of accuracy, but other classes would find it impossible.
Ling of the Six Pools also stands out amongst those at Shado-Pan Garrison, but, as with Tenwu, she wears rogue only armor: Tier 3 Bonescythe Armor head and shoulders, and legs and chest from Tier 8 Conqueror’s Terrorblade Battlegear.

If you’ve put together a Shado-Pan themed set, or an outfit based around the helmet, then we’d love to see them!
