Pirate IV

Pirate IV

Armor Type: Leather
Level Req.: 80
Source: BoE world drops/Crafted/Instance drops
Availability: Alliance only! Potentially time consuming to complete

How to get the set:

This particular pirate outfit is fully transmogrifiable and is based around the Alliance version of the Knightbane Carapace.

Unfortunately the Horde version of the chestpiece looks considerably different in both model and colouration. As such the outfit depicted in this article is applicable only to Alliance characters.

We’ve included two pictures to show the variation of the chestpiece appearance between males and females.

For now Eye of Rend can’t to be dropped so the easiest way to get the headpiece now is to get http://www.wowhead.com/item=11735.

  2. Shilin says:

Any other pants that would work? I don’t really like mixing vanilla pants (old textures) with cata gear (new textures) It looks off

  3. DF says:

Love it. Use it. Still trying to find the best dagger OH to use with it (with Phase Blade as MH). Currently using the Shard of Azzinoth, but not quite satisfied. Any thoughts on a match for the sword?

  4. Yulipsie says:

I love the look. I wish I could have a pirate hat but you have given me and idea for my character.

  5. Hyliaa says:

Not *quite* as awesome looking as the stuff in this set, but still has that laced-up piratey feel to it for the Horde (especially if you use an eyepatch): http://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=1092. :)

  6. Ami says:

There is a new quest reward in the Jade forest that uses the model of this chest piece. Still alliance only, unfortunately

  7. blake says:

http://www.wowhead.com/item=48219 works as chest as well and you dont need LW… well its an exact match… the pants http://www.wowhead.com/item=48220 work as well.

  8. Tribal says:

After many days browsing through Wow Model Viewer, I found a Horde exclusive chest piece that fits the set quite well, but requires level 84 due to it being a quest reward.

  9. Shirianna says:

Rogues can also use the tier chest, it has the exact same looks and is way easier to obtain.

  10. Ald says:

Is it possible to get the chest piece on a horde character through the neutral AH?

    • Noelani says:

Technically yes, but you wouldn’t be able to wear it on horde side, as the chest has a race requirement on it “Races: Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome, Draenei, Worgen”. It’s impossible for a horde race to wear this look, sadly.

      • Ald says:

Darn!!! That shirt is SO perfect for the pirate look… the horde alternative doesn’t look nearly as pirate-ey…

      • Ald says:

Noelani, do you think you could find a horde version for the chest? I’ll keep an eye out for things, too. I’d LOVE to make my rogue a pirate! :)

      • Noelani says:

It’s not too easy finding leather chestpieces which look appropriately piratey but we have at least one suggestion for the time-being. The rogue season 11 chestpiece has a bit of a pirate feel to it, with similar sleeves to swashbuckler shirts and lacing not unlike the Knightbane Carapace. The skull may not be to everybody’s taste, but it’s certainly a plausible tunic option.

We’ve compiled an article on the chestpiece as another in our on-going Pirate series: Pirate V

We’ll let you know if we come across any further alternatives.

Here are some tops that I found that are simple but nice:
^^^ – This one is a BoE drop

^^^ – This one is a questing one, and there are many copies of it.

Very nice set. I need to see if my leatherworker can make that chestpiece

  13. Dizzy says:

I love this set! It still looks pirate-y but is completely different from the usual pirate outfits you see in WoW. Well done!
