Netherscale Armor

Netherscale Armor

Armor Type: Mail
Level Req.: 70 (80 with extras)
Source: Leatherworker Crafted/BoP raid drops/BoE world drops
Availability: High material costs and the recipes are currently unavailable

How to get the sets:

The Netherscale Armor set consists of three pieces, a chest, braces and belt, which are crafted by Leatherworkers.

Unfortunately, you can no longer learn these recipes in-game, although there are supposedly future plans to reintroduce them. They are also BoP, which means you can’t have them crafted by someone who had the recipes prior to them being removed. Nevertheless, we chose to include the set for those who are fortunate enough to be able to craft them.

The Netherscale set is accompanied by shoulders and legs which are perfect matches, together forming a recolour of the hunter Tier 2 Dragonstalker set. There are however no other perfectly matching pieces, so we’ve included suggestions below to fill the gaps.

ChestEbon Netherscale Breastplate (BoP crafted by Leatherworkers of 375+ skill)
WristsEbon Netherscale Bracers (BoP crafted by Leatherworkers of 375+ skill)
WaistEbon Netherscale Belt (BoP crafted by Leatherworkers of 375+ skill)

HandsWarstrike Gauntlets (BoE world drop)
LegsScaled Greaves of the Marksman (BoE drop from Doom Lord Kazzak in Hellfire Peninsula)

BowBaelog’s Shortbow (Horde only! BoP drop from Baelog in Uldaman)

Alternative Extras (Night Elf):

Note: The bow is horde only, but it’s such a good match we couldn’t ignore it. We’ll add an alliance weapon at a later point in time!

Ragnaros in Firelands drops a bow that goes really well with this. It’s called “Arathar, the Eye of Flame.”

Do you know or can you reccomend any fitting cloak for this set in particular

I have this set for my Night Elf but can’t find a bow I really like to go with this look. I’m also not too crazy about the Warstrike Sabatons. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions for the weapon and boots? I prefer a bow for weapon. I could live with a crossbow, but don’t really like guns at all. Thanks.

For alternate footwear, the Treads of Dormant Dreams stick to the purple colouration and scale theme reasonably well. You could possibly also use the Amberpine Greaves/Njord Boots/Shoveltusk Greaves which have a similar metallic purple to the legs and aren’t too bulky.

Bows are quite difficult to work with, as there really aren’t a huge amount of different models/styles in-game. If the one mentioned in the article isn’t to your liking/availability, then it could be very difficult to find an alternative in yellow and purple, or just one of those colours for that matter!

One option that could work for you is Zod’s Repeating Longbow. The green and purple in the bow is extremely close to that seen in the legs listed in our article. There is however no yellow, but instead an electric blue which clashes a bit with the rest of the set.

Crossbows are an even more limited selection, but you could possibly use one of the following, both of which share colour elements with the set:
      Mardenholde Crossbow
