Green Sunwell Leather Set

Green Sunwell Leather Set

Armor Type: Leather
Level Req.: 70
Source: BoP boss drops from Sunwell Plateau
Availability: Time consuming to farm and requires assistance

How to get the set:
This collection is comprised of three seperate sets, all sharing the same models and, with only one exception, the same colouration. Each set represents one of the three roles of a druid: feral, restoration and balance, for whom these items were designed. Accordingly, there are additionally three pieces for each of the extended Druid Tier 6 sets, which fit this appearance perfectly and also drop from Sunwell bosses: Thunderheart Waists, Thunderheart Wrists and Thunderheart Feet, which are of course only available to druids.

The sets are a mix, with some items being obtained simply as boss/trash drops, whereas others have to be traded from Yrma <Transmuter of Sin’dorei Relics> on the Island of Quel’Danas. Yrma will exchange an item with you at the cost of one Sunmote and one specific Sunwell boss drop of the same armor slot.

Note that every item is the same in appearance in each set, with the exception of the chestpieces. Whilst the feral and restoration chests are the same, the balance chest has a slightly different colouration, as can be seen to the left.

Gathering the set pieces will require a raid group, even of level 85 characters, as many of the Sunwell encounters are particularly challenging, or have mechanics requiring multiple players.

Alternatives:
An alternative chestpiece for this set is the Leather Chestguard of the Sun, which is created by leatherworkers using Pattern: Leather Chestguard of the Sun. Likewise, there are matching leatherworked gloves, the Leather Gauntlets of the Sun, created with Pattern: Leather Gauntlets of the Sun. Both patterns are rare drop from random Sunwell trash mobs, however, it should be noted that not only are the patterns rare, but the items they create are also BoP, and thus only available to leatherworkers.

is there any alternative for the belt? which is not druid restriction?

I’m not a huge fan of the helm from this set (from the screenshots here, I’m guessing I’m not the only one), but the Cover of the Keepers from Ulduar is absolutely gorgeous with it!

I’m planning on making a “druid” lookalike green-haired Draenei monk, substituting the Giant-Friend Kilt from Sons of Hodir and the Draenic Wildstaff from Heroic Auchenai Crypts to truly make a good nature feel without needing druid-specific items.

This is really a great set, because too many of the nice green leather sets for druids are class restricted. There are recolors of the same models, but that doesn’t help when I’m looking for green!

Is there an alternative for legs? I’m going with an Orange and Green leather theme. My tabard is orange and my headpiece is the orange eyepatch. As a Goblin and RP Hotel Proprietor, I’m allowed to dress a little silly, but I was hoping for some matching green legs that aren’t a kilt.
