Armor Type: Mail
Level Req.: 39
Source: BoP and BoE drops, primarily within one instance
Availability: No longer obtainable
How to get the set:
The Scarlet Crusader set is a mix of BoE and BoP items, all of which were from Scarlet Monastery. However, the Scarlet items are no longer obtainable, following the changes made to Scarlet Monastery in Patch 5.0.4. As such, the information presented below is outdated.
The BoE green items are rather common and can regularly be picked up on the Auction House at a reasonable rate. The BoP drops are also easily farmable as they have high drop chances within Scarlet Monastery. However, there are a few rare quality BoE drops which are very hard to get, the Chestpiece and the weapon. You may be able to pick them up on the Auction House occasionally.
The boots that belong to this set are extremely rare. Scarlet Boots are a BoE drop from 22 different humanoids in Scarlet Monastery Cathedral, at a 0% drop chance. This doesn’t mean that the item never drops, it’s just so rare that it’s drop rate is closer to 0 than 0.1% of all kills. This is why we chose another set of boots, that actually also fit the pants better.
Your best bet for completing the set is to keep a close eye on the AH and farm SM as much as you can!
Head – Raging Berserker’s Helm (BoP from Herod in Scarlet Monastery Armory)
Shoulders – Herod’s Shoulder (BoP from Herod in Scarlet Monastery Armory)
Chest – Scarlet Chestpiece (BoE drop from Scarlet Champions in Scarlet Monastery Cathedral)
Tabard – Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade (BoP from Scarlet Trainees in Scarlet Monastery Armory, after you’ve killed Herod)
Wrists – Scarlet Wristguards (BoE drop from Scarlet Guardsmen and Scarlet Protectors in Scarlet Monastery Armory)
Hands – Raider’s Gauntlets (BoE world drop from level 16-20 creatures)
Waist – Scarlet Belt (BoE drop from Scarlet Defenders and Scarlet Myrmidons in Scarlet Monastery Armory and Cathedral)
Legs – Scarlet Leggings (BoP drop from Herod, in SM Armory, and Scarlet Commander Mograine in SM Cathedral)
Feet – Raider’s Boots (BoE world drop from level 14-21 creatures)
The Scarlet Set does have its own pair of gloves, Scarlet Gauntlets, a BoE drop from Scarlet Centurions in SM Cathedral.
However, we chose to put our Scarlet Crusader in Raider’s Gauntlets, as we felt that they matched the overall appearance of the set better than the Scarlet Gauntlets, in particular matching the Scarlet Leggings, as with the boots.
