Netherwind Recolour
Tier 2 Mage Lookalike

Armor Type: Cloth

How to get the set:

This outfit is a recolour of the Mage Tier 2 Netherwind set and is not class specific. The pieces that comprise this look are available from heroic and high-end 5-person Burning Crusade instances.

Cloak of clarity is also a very nice cloak for this set (its also purple)

  2. Lillepoo says:

This staff would be awesome with it

Thank you Asa for the Warpstaff idea, and to Lindsay and others for the Redeemer staff idea. This set has got to be one of my favourites in all the game – the brilliant colours just can’t be matched! It’s impossible NOT to stand out in a crowd in this set. Interestingly, I like using this as a Shadow Priest, because the mana-ball shoulders show up in shadow form too – in muted brilliance, to be sure, but it’s still something that pops out of your otherwise monochrome and translucent form!

I got this on my 80 warlock with Skywitch’s Drape (Vendor Purchase from Grella in Terokkar Forest, revered reputation required), Staff of Infinite Mysteries (BoP Drop from The Curator in Karazhan) and Light-Woven Slippers (BoP Drop from Darkweaver Syth in Sethekk Halls).
Due to I am an Engineer (and I do not like the head at all), I use Shadow Googles (BoE crafted by engineers and only usable for engineers, four medium leather and two shadowgems are required).

For those wanting a WAND, OFF-HAND, and/or CLOAK that matches the colors of this set, I recommend:

I wear these pieces with the set myself and think that they match rather well. :)

  6. Lindsey says:

Possible Pink & Purple Color Combo Staves:

    “Magician Staff”

    “Demoniac Longstaff”

    “Rod of the Void Caller”

    “Crystalfire Staff”

  7. Diia says:

The Bishop’s Cloak (130 JP from Shat vendor) goes well with this set.

  8. Andy the Mage says:

For those of you looking for a staff to go with this set, I found one that looks really good. It’s not an easy one to get though, as it drops from Doom Lord Kazzak; an Outland world raid boss in Hellfire Peninsula. Fortunately, it is BoE so you can check the auction house for it as well.

    Exodar Life-Staff

  9. Andy the Mage says:

Awesome set, I have it on my mage. I use a different sword though which I think looks perfect with the set. You just need Keepers of Time rep up to revered.

    Continuum Blade

  10. Babou says:

Will i be able to get this for my lvl 70 twink mage?

    • Noelani says:

You’ll need some help at least, but yes, you’ll be able to get it. I’m not sure how many people run TBC heroics anymore, probably not a whole lot, but you can always try to strike a deal with a friend to boost you through.

  11. Garrazziyo says:

Comfirmed to work in Transforge 4.3

  12. Ahlis says:

This is officially my character’s main outfit in-game. It’s amazing for a character who plays as a mage and who loves purple ;)

  13. Lin says:

Similar sword model (pink with a yellowish glow) is the Crystalline Kopesh, quest reward for killing Durn the Hungerer in Nagrand. Very easily obtainable, too. :)

  14. Anonymous says:

Another possible staff is the Crystalheart Pulse-Staff that drops from Magtheridon.

  15. Anonymous says:

Another fitting weapon will be Staff of the Redeemer from The Cipher of Damnation chain in Shadowmoon Valley (or Exodar Life-Staff off Doom Lord Kazzak if that is unavailable)

  16. Asa says:

For completionists: if you got the sword and want a matching off-hand, there’s at least two easily attainable orbs that match the colour, one for Alliance and one for Horde: Mori’s Compass is a reward from the low level Ironforge quest The Lost Pilot, while Tarren Orb is one of the rewards from the group quest lvl 25 Yetimus the Yeti Lord, which is picked up in Tarren Mill.

  17. Hiwatt says:

Wanted to add that the Tattered Castle Drape matches perfectly. Just in case anyone is interested in using this set for transmogrification.

  18. Asa says:

A fitting alternative for the weapon can be too the Warpstaff of Arcanum, dropped by Warp Splinter in both normal and heroic Botanica. Since you’ll be farming the instance for the gloves, a shot at the last boss coul prove worthy.
