The Bloodforged Set
Armor Type: Plate
Level Req.: 46 for the Bloodforged pieces, 70 with extras
Source: BoE World Drops
Availability: Not easily farmable, checking the Auction House regularly is the best option
About the set:
Bloodforge items drop from random creatures between level 38 and level 54 in Azeroth. Since there is no specific source with a high drop rating, browsing the Auction House is the best place to find pieces of this set.
Shoulders – Bloodforged Shoulderpads
Chest – Bloodforged Chestpiece
Wrists – Bloodforged Bindings
Gloves – Bloodforged Gauntlets
Waist – Bloodforged Belt
Legs – Bloodforged Legplates
Feet – Bloodforged Sabatons
Dual-Wielded One-Handed Maces – Bloodskull Destroyer (BoP drop from Lieutenant Drake in heroic Old Hillsbrad Foothills)

Fun fact! As can be seen in the image to the right, the pommel of the Bloodskull Destroyer has the number 54 carved into it, which is then mirrored on the very top of the mace too.

Hi
this is a terrific set – im still desperately trying to get the Bloodforged chest – never been on AH in 18 month on my realm. Anyway, i use the following shield and mace with it ATM

The mace is from Black Temple. Same design and “54″ but smaller than the Bloodskull Destroyer from Heroic Old Hillsbrad
hey, any alternatives for axes?
i must say that the maces are awesome, but i’d like to be able to wear something for my orc Warrior (axe specialisation).
Thanks!
P.S. Does that even matter in MoP? (it’s been a while since i’ve been in wow)
Also, are both maces the same, any possiblity you could link both of them and which one is which?
Thanks and sorry for the trouble!
Yes, the two maces are the same. He’s dual-wielding the Bloodskull Destroyer.
For axe alternatives, there are quite few which use the same orangey-red as the Bloodforged items.
1-Hand Axes:
- Firebrand Battleaxe – Also has a fiery glow
- Rising Tide
- Garrosh’s Vanguard Battleaxe – Lots of lookalikes in Trial of the Crusader too
2-Hand Axes:
- Nightfall
- Merciless Gladiator’s Decapitator
- Gunship Armory Greataxe – Same deal as the Vanguard axe above, lots of TotC10/25 lookalikes. Check the “Same model as” tab on Wowhead for a list
Hi,
Thank you for such a prompt answer!
I have to say they’re pretty nice, but I think the maces are just too good to pass on.
Also, if I may take advantage of your kindness (!), what are some good head and back pieces that would fit with this set? (for transmog purposes)
Thank you very much!
For headpieces, there aren’t many options within the colour scheme. There is the actual Bloodforged Helmet, or alternatively the Bloodfist Helmet. Both have a couple of lookalikes with other names, so I’d recommend browsing through the “Same model as” tab on Wowhead to identify the alternatives.
For cloaks:
- Cloak of the Betrayed/Soulrender Greatcloak – Same colours, different borders
- Resplendent Cloak – Similar again
As with the helms, the cloaks are not exactly exotic options, but there’s a limited number that utilise this bright colouration!
If your having trouble finding all the pieces,, Hyperion is a similiar set.
I use dual swords, any suggestions on which swords to use with this set?
If you are looking for a Shield i would recommend ‘The Fel Barrier’ (drops from Nexus Prince in Mana Tombs Heroic). I have this shield + the mace. Pure coolnes
Hi!
Need a shield to go with this set- any suggestions?
i love the set with the mace, it makes it look soooo good
